Elite people are elite sleepers

waking up early and running off zero sleep might seem cool, but you need to realise the elite people are not doing this.

Sleep is the #1 performance enhancer there is. Nailing your sleep will give you another level in your performance.

Sleep is where we recover. When we are recovered, we perform.

If we sleep well, everything around performance falls into place - food, moods, training etc

And before you say... 3 things to address...

- no, you do not perform better off 6 hours, you are just used to it

- Yes you are doing well but imagine how much better you'd do with more sleep

- 4.30 wake ups and 100% grind is not what elite people do

So what do the elite do?

They sleep 8-10 hours a night. They prioritise sleep. They get good quality sleep.

That is why they can progress in training, career, relationships (yes sex drive is important) and eat well and be happy.

So what can you do to achieve this?

Here are 3 simple tips to help you;

  1. Spend longer in bed - Not rocket science but guess what? If you spend longer in bed, you will probably sleep longer. Get into bed when there is 9 hours until get up time, not 7. Easy.

  2. Sleep Environment - make sure your room is cool, dark, quiet and clean. These are fundamental to a good night sleep.

  3. Pre bed routine - make sure your last 30-60 mins before bed is set up for you to sleep well. Keep this simple. Brush teeth (hopefully), read for 10 and plan your day. You want to avoid doing anything that gets your mind working eg reading business books, planning holidays etc you can to calm down your system ready to sleep.
